Philip graduated in law in 1974 and joined the firm in 1995. He holds a Master of Arts. Philip is a Partner in the firm and has a wealth of industrial law experience.

He also practises in the areas of employment law and superannuation. Before joining RCT, Philip worked as a Union industrial officer.

He has had the conduct of cases in the High Court, including Amcor v CFMEU, and numerous Federal Court and Supreme Court matters.

He has acted in a number of union dis-amalgamation, rules and registration cases. Philip also advises and acts for industry superannuation funds.

Recently he has been advising unions and employees about the impact of Work
Choices and assisting superannuation funds adapt to the changing environment for funds and Trustees.

In September 2006, he was appointed as Chairperson of the Estate Agents Council established under the Estate Agents Act.

In the high-profile negotiations between the Victorian Government and nurses over a new EBA, Philip was a legal adviser to the Australian Nursing Federation and assisted in their successful resolution.
