Philip Gardner
Employment and Industrial Law, Superannuation
Philip graduated in law in 1974 and also holds a Master of Arts (Social Sciences).
Having joined the firm in 1995, he became a Partner in 2000 and leads the company’s flagship Industrial and Employment practice. Philip has acted in cases in front of the High Court of Australia and at numerous Federal Court proceedings on behalf of unions involved in highly contentious matters such as registration and de-registration.
The introduction of the Federal Government’s Fair Work Act has seen him advising unions and employees about their rights and opportunities under the new Act. Already he has commenced proceedings on behalf of RCT clients relying on the new provisions. In addition to his wealth of experience in industrial law, Philip practices in the areas of employment law and superannuation.
Prior to joining RCT, he worked as a Union industrial officer.
Philip is a former Chairperson of the Estate Agent’s Council established under the Estate Agents Act.
Outside of the law, his less than outstanding ability with a golf stick has not diminished his relish for the game.
