Dog attacks, supermarket slips...

You’re entitled to walk in the park without being attacked by a dog. And to shop in a supermarket in safety.

If you’re injured in any public place, you may be entitled to compensation.

These are typical claims:

  • Visiting a business – owners are responsible for the safety of people on their property. If they are negligent, they may be sued.
  • Shopping centres – slips and falls are the most common types of accidents in shopping centres.
  • At school – children are entitled to proper supervision, including protection from bullying.
  • Footpaths and road – trips that result from badly made or repaired paths may cause injuries.
  • Sporting accidents – where the facilities are poorly maintained.
  • Play equipment – should be properly maintained.
  • Dog attacks – owners are immediately liable if you’re attacked and the attack occurs away from the owner’s property.
