We are only as good as our people. RCT aims to attract the best.
As plaintiff lawyers, our staff must adhere to the firm’s philosophy of working in the best interests of ordinary people.
We fight for their rights, their industrial conditions and their access to fair compensation should they be hurt or injured.
We also believe in making the law accessible, less intimidating.
Many of our clients come to us when they require trusted advice on issues that also may affect other parts of their lives. These issues might cover relationship problems, migration problems, buying and selling property, superannuation entitlements or simply making a Will.
In all these matters, we pride ourselves on explaining how the law works and what our client’s legal options are, in plain English.
A progressive workplace
Ryan Carlisle Thomas offers one of the most flexible workplaces in the
industry, with family-friendly provisions that help our staff balance
their work commitments with their private lives and family priorities.
We offer generous maternity leave, rostered days off and part-time working arrangements, among other benefits.
Best of all, you benefit from working as part of team with a commitment to fairness and results.
Our training
scheme
If you obtain a position with us as an articled clerk, you will undertake
a comprehensive practical training program under the supervision of experienced
solicitors.
The program requires rotations through RCT's major areas of practice and in a range of office locations so that you are exposed to as many work experiences as is practicable. Only at the end of training are you required to choose an area of specialisation.
We believe this system helps you make an informed decision about your career with RCT, while at the same time broadening your client relationship experiences and skills.
RCT is a signatory to the Law Institute of Victoria Articles of Clerkship and Seasonal Clerkship Guidelines and conducts its selection of Articled Clerks and Seasonal Clerks in accordance with the timetables specified under those guidelines.
